Law and Totem and Order
by Vera Cooper

"The large centre picture represents the long neck turtle of this area along the Murray River. The circles in the corners represent the places of living for the Aboriginal people. The different size circles around the turtle represent the flow of the community. The handshakes represent agreements. The stars represent the laws and policing. The stamping-out sign represents no more unjust and misunderstanding for the Koori people and the law. The figures around the outside of the turtle shell represent the law and the indigenous people having mediation. The full size figures around the centre of the turtle shell represent the Koori communities. The figures on the centre of the turtle shell represent Indigenous Business. For this I believe we are now able to sit and talk about building a bridge and walking a pathway to understand the Koori people who hold pride and place of the long neck turtle."
