On this page: This page outlines what you are able to do when going to court for parenting orders.

Going to Court for Parenting Orders

A parenting order will say:

  1. Who has responsibility for the children
  2. Where they live
  3. What time they will spend with the other parent
  4. Any other thing the Court considers are in the best interests of the children.

A judge will hear all proposals and consider all the evidence. However, a judge is not bound to follow anyone’s proposal, and can make any order the Court sees as best for the children.
