Here we discuss enduring and non enduring power of attorney
General non enduring power of attorney
A general non-enduring power of attorney authorises a person or persons
to act on your behalf in relation to your financial matters for a specified
period of time. For example, if you need another person to run your business
while you are overseas.
The authority ends at the date or occasion specified in the power of
attorney, or once revoked by you.
You may wish to seek legal advice before entering into a non-enduring
power of attorney.
A general non-enduring power of attorney cannot be made for personal
matters.
A general non-enduring power of attorney is not for future planning. A
general non-enduring power of attorney does not operate if you no longer have
decision-making capacity, and the attorney cannot make decisions during this
time.
