About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Business Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to the Aboriginal Justice Caucus. This role is central to the effective operation of the AJC, supporting governance, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of AJA5 priorities across Victoria.
You will work closely with a small, committed team and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committees (RAJACs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretariat support, including minute-taking, agenda preparation, and action tracking
  • Coordinate meetings and events, including logistics, travel arrangements, and maintenance of accurate records
  • Support engagement and communication with RAJACs and other key stakeholders
  • Assist with reporting, document preparation, and information flow across the Aboriginal justice sector
  • Contribute to general operational tasks and support project delivery as required
  • Undertake occasional regional travel across Victoria

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with demonstrated cultural capability
  • Experience providing administrative and/or secretariat support in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and respectful approach
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and other digital platforms
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, supportive team

Mandatory Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Confirmation of Aboriginality (this is an identified position)
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
  • Willingness to travel across RAJAC regions as required
