Statements regarding Coronial Inquest into the passing of Baby L

Statement by Baby L’s mother

“It’s been almost 4 years since my beautiful daughter passed. I miss her so much and still feel the pain of losing her. I miss her smile and her hugs. I remember when she would grab the microphone at home and sing songs to me. She loved music and one of her favourite songs was Thunder by Imagine Dragon.”

“I need the Coroner to help me understand what happened to my daughter. I want to know what happened in the days before she passed away. I want to know what caused her to pass away. I want to know what child protection did and what they did not do – but should have done.”

“Nothing will bring my baby back, but I need answers to know what happened so that I can properly grieve for her.”
